World Rivers Day 2009

For the second year in a row, Rivers Day at Kanaka Creek came with unbroken sunshine and temperatures in the low twenties. 250 visitors took part in the event, and Panago took care of the volunteers. A great day for Kanaka Creek!

I bet those guys in the locomotive were thinking they would rather be canoeing...

The tide rose throughout the day, making excursions to the Fraser possible.

This guy hung around all day.

Some of The Gang.

Panago was on hand, to feed the volunteers.
There was plenty of interest in our aquatic insect display.
Science World turned up with their interactive booth.
KEEPS' Sarah Davies "in the field".
Here's something that's not covered in the Bear Aware program.
