World Rivers Day 2010

Kanaka Creek Regional Park / Riverfront was the setting for the 8th annual Rivers Day event on Kanaka Creek September 26th. Approximately 300 visitors attended despite the light rain showers. Our volunteers, along with Panago, rule so much! Give yourselves a pat on the back!

Hanging around the booths.

The ubiquitous Enviroscape model was on hand.

Sea Cadets turned up, and showed us some of their skills.

Of course, Panago fed the volunteers. This made John and Darin very happy.

Canoe tours ran throughout the day.

A look at the Kanaka oxbow.

Nowhere better to be, than on the water....

The Scouts were on hand to take part in a concurrent Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

We had all sorts of visitors, even this common garter snake.
