Here we have two fish species you may encounter in Kanaka Creek near the Stewardship Center in the summer. The longnose dace is a small minnow that usually lives 3 to 4 years. The day camp participants took full advantage of the relative coolness of the riparian area, as temperatures hit 32 on this late July day.
Metro Vancouver Regional Parks and ourselves are delighted to provide programming to the City of Maple Ridge summer day camps.
The students are applying protective mulch to this restoration planting site. We appreciate their great effort, and that of the parent volunteers as well.
